Re: Synthetic vision

What are the exact specs of your tablet? Do you have a model number you could provide? From your description of the white terrain, it sounds like the tablet is having trouble loading the texture images for the terrain.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Synthetic vision

I just sent in a support request for the same problem... I have been waiting for runways and stopped using the terrain a while back until the runways arrived.. now they are here and the only thing I have is runways... No Terrain...  I hppe this is not a tablet problem as I bought this for Naviator 2 years ago Christmas.  Samsung Galaxy Tab3 8 inch.  It works on my Samsung S4 phone.

Re: Synthetic vision

Hmmm.... this is proving to be a pretty elusive bug. In the current app version, there is a new setting for "high detail water" (in the 3D Settings screen). Is this setting disabled on your Tab3?

Re: Synthetic vision

It is the same checked or not for High Detail water or for Anti-aliasing.. Both checked and unchecked... I will say Frames per second gets as high as 60 on the tab 3.. but no terrain.. the Samsung Galaxy S4 phone has lower FPS but has the terrain.

Re: Synthetic vision

Any Update on Progress for this one?  I would hate to have to get a new Tablet just for this to work...  I really want to see how it all works before a new tablet.... If I do get a new one I would have to consider the crapple just because it seams with Android I would need such a high end tablet if the SV is going to break with lower or mid ones.  Thanks...

Re: Synthetic vision

I haven't been able to reproduce this problem on any of the test devices. It looks like I'll have to get my hands on a Tab3 for testing. I do have a Tab4, but the terrain is working normally on that tablet.

What is the exact model number of your tablet? I want to be sure to order the right one.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Synthetic vision

Thanks. I'll be looking into this issue as soon as I locate a suitable tablet for debugging.

Re: Synthetic vision

One more thing... am I doing something wrong or is it not possible to have split screen with Synth Vis and the Approach plate displayed at the same time.  This I would think is the most useful split screen when doing approaches I would think.  Thanks for any tips or future updates that would allow this.  Great work!

Re: Synthetic vision

In order to provide you with dual-phenomenology, I also have the SM-T310 and also see a blend of white and blue on the 3D screen.  I see words indicating where some features might be, but nothing in detail.

So, if I were to have to get another 8" tablet, what have people found to be the best?

Re: Synthetic vision

I'd hold off buying a new tablet for now, unless you were already planning on getting one. I'm confident that we'll be able to fix this issue. That said, my 8" Galaxy Tab 4 works well.

Cheers,
Mike

Also neithrr fixed the white terrain i  3D  mode.. but i don't think that was a bug  u were fixing... just wanted to let u know.

Re: Synthetic vision

I've obtained an SM-T310 and am finally able to reproduce this problem. I've narrowed down the cause, but unfortunately fixing it will require a substantial amount of rework. I'll get an update released as soon as I'm able to.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Synthetic vision

New user that decided on Naviator primarily for the Synthetic vision. It works on my Galaxy S5 phone, but does not work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tablet. (Model number SGH-1467, Android 4.4.2, and Naviator version 3.7.) Display is as described by others, white bottom, blue on top.

The phone version isn't very usable because it lacks the split screen. Therefore I really need the fix for the Note 8 to use Naviator at all.

Re: Synthetic vision

Recently installed 3.7.1 on my Samsung Galaxy 7.0 Plus, GT-P6210 with Android 4.0.4 and Naviator crashes ("Unfortunately, Naviator has stopped") a few seconds after touching "3D".  It is repeatable, and I did reboot the tablet a few times.  I can't say if the culprit was 3.7.1 or another recent version, but 3D used to work OK on this tablet (albeit with a white bottom).

3D still works fine on my phone (an LG running Android 4.4.2) and on another Samsung Tablet, a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (GT-P3113) running Android 4.2.2.

I don't usually use Synthetic Vision but the GT-P6210 is my preferred cockpit tablet.  If it isn't possible for Synthetic Vision to be compatible with it, that's fine, but hitting the button accidentally while flying and crashing the app is really not good - If it won't work, I'd prefer the 3D button not be visible at all or if it must remain visible, inoperative.

Re: Synthetic vision

JohnAJohnson and dontaw, thanks for the bug reports. A bug fix release will be published tomorrow to resolve the 3D crashing issue.

The white terrain issue is still being worked on; apologies that it's taking so long to fix.

Cheers,
Mike
