Naviator 3.0.1

Naviator version 3.0.1 has been released to the Play Store. Edit: A newer version is now available here.

New in this version:

  • 3D synthetic vision featuring terrain, lakes, obstacles and towers.

  • Obstacle and tower warnings appear on the 2D map and 3D synthetic vision.

  • Added support for FreeFlight Systems ADS-B receivers.

  • The map screen can now display the aircraft's approximate height above the ground, similar to a radar altimeter. Tap-and-hold in the corner of the map to select the new "Approximate AGL" field type.

  • Added a breadcrumb overlay on geo-referenced approach plates.

3D synthetic vision:

Color coded obstacles appear at their real world heights:

Get too close to an obstacle and it will start flashing red/white:

Terrain 500 feet below, or above the aircraft's altitude is tinted red:

Mike

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

Not showing up for me.  Is my Motorola Droid XYBoard 8 inch tablet incompatible with v3?

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

It might take some time for the update to propagate to all of the Google Play Store servers. It should show up for you within the next day or so.

Cheers,
Mike

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

Mike... just want to say a big thank you for all the efforts you continually put into this project. As a fellow software guy I know how near to impossible it is to make everyone happy. Well, I'm happy and I can honestly say that wouldn't enjoy flying as much as I do without Naviator. Personally, I want to especially thank you for the AGL display, having asked for it just a short while back.

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

My Galaxy 111 reads "unfortunately, Naviator has stopped".  What now?

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

Just purchased Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 and 3D Synthetic ground is white.  Tried uninstallling "USA LAKES" under 3D database (the only file shown) to correct but did not fix.  It is working perfectly on my ASUS Transformer however.  Any ideas on how do fix the missing ground in 3D synthetic vision for me?

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

Mike. As I read the Freeflight ADSB solution specs it seems it is only iPad compatible. So does this enhancement now mean that somehow you've bypassed that problem (i.e. no Android compatibility) to make Naviator work with Freeflight? I am looking at the Ranger 978 XVR unit.

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

As far as I'm aware Naviator does work with the FreeFlight ADS-B products, however I have contacted them for confirmation about that note in the specs document. I'll update this thread when I hear back from them.

Re: Naviator 3.0.1

Other android apps work with my FreeFlight XVR system so that is not the issue
