No Water in Terrain (USA)

If I Select Chart > Terrain Map, the screen shows a very nice green (or grey) terrain with the proper valleys and hills, but there is no blue, indicating water.  Offshore water (Puget Sound, Chesapeake Bay, etc., show up fine but any inland water such as Lake Powell, Lake Pontchartrain, or the Great Lakes do not show up at all, but are simply smooth green areas.  For instance, in the terrain screen shot used in the Play Store, there is a river running next to KCLS:

On my android, if I pull up KCLS, it looks identical to the screen shot on the play store but there is no river.

I am running 3.2.8 on Android 4.2.2 (Samsung Tab 2 7") and have this data loaded:

Global > Airport and Navaid Data > Naviator Database
United States > FAA Sectionals > Memphis & Kansas City
United States > FAA Terminal Procedures > FAA Terminal Procedures
United States > Synthetic Vision Databases > USA Lakes
United States > Terminal Procedure Charts > Arkansas
United States > Terrain Databases > United States Hi-Res Terrain

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Also, the base map... I really like it better than the terrain map but it only seems to work with an internet connection.  Is there a way to download base maps for an area or state you will be flying in?  I know that I can go to Global > Base Maps and download a rectangular 7MB area, but that doesn't seem to download all base map zoom levels that you might want in that particular area, so it is limited as is.

And also, just for reference, the base maps show all inland water fine.

Terrain view shows terrain, not water.

Thanks Jim.

So you are saying my system is working as it should, and the Play Store screen shot above is a fluke?

I'm not seeing any lakes or rivers in terrain view.

Appreciate you confirming what I describe in my original post.

Mike,
Can you confirm if inland water should or should not be visible in terrain?

Re: No Water in Terrain (USA)

That screen shot is from an older version of the app. The old base map database is no longer used in the newer versions of Naviator and as a result the rivers and lakes are not currently available on the terrain layer. That said, we are working on a new solution that will restore the rivers and lakes (as well as add a whole slew of additional feature types).

Cheers,
Mike

Re: No Water in Terrain (USA)

Thanks for the reply Mike.  That's great news - water is really nice on a terrain map.  Without railroad tracks, major highways, or water, contour/elevation alone doesn't provide much situational awareness.
